The Micro Commuter is quite similar to Renault Twizy, which is priced from £6,690.

Honda will start demonstration testing next year in various uses including supporting everyday short-distance transportation for families with small children and for senior citizens, home delivery services, commuting and car sharing.

The Micro Commuter weighs 400kg and is powered by a 20bhp electric motor. Range is about 37 miles and the top speed is 50 mph.

This small electric vehicle is based on Honda’s Variable Design Platform, allowing different configurations to be placed on top of it to offer more body styles.

Driving information is shown on a tablet, which also acts as an audio and back-up camera display. The tablet can be charged using solar cells mounted on the vehicle roof.
