Volkswagen Group plans to recall vehicles in China after drawing scrutiny from the nation’s quality inspector and state broadcaster over its dual-clutch transmission.
The automaker will conduct a voluntary recall related to the part, which is refers to as its direct shift gearbox, Volkswagen said in March 16 statement without providing details.

Chinese automakers are about ten years away from being globally competitive and will have to increase their research and development spending to close the gap, according to a Sanford C. Bernstein & Co report.
