BMW confirms range-topping X7 SUV is going into production
BMW’s new seven-seat off-roader will be built in the US and will be hitting the streets in 2016. The announcement was made during an event to celebrate BMW’s increased investment in its Spartanburg, South Carolina US production plant — a facility where pretty much all of BMW’s existing SUVs — the X3, X5, X5M, X6 and X6M are already built.
BMW plans 7-seat crossover for U.S. factory
The long-rumored BMW X7 will be built at the company’s U.S. plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, The Wall Street Journal reported.
BMW will make the announcement on March 28, the newspaper reported on Friday, and will spend several hundred million dollars to expand the plant to build the seven-seat X7.
BMW orders 2 more ENGEL moulding machines for i3 EV body shell components
BMW has awarded ENGEL Austria another contract to supply system solutions to BMW’s Leipzig factory, where ENGEL duo injection moulding machines are used to manufacture car body shell components for the BMW i3 electric vehicle. The latest order includes two large-scale ENGEL duo machines with 40,000 kN clamping force integrated as a double system.

BMW may build more than 100,000 units a year of its ‘i’ range of battery-powered cars by 2020 to help meet tougher CO2 emissions regulations.
