BMW recalls 1,300,000 cars…Potential Fire

BMW has recalled 1.3m 5 Series and 6 Series cars amid fears they could catch fire. The recall affects 109,000 cars in the UK, and is because of a faulty battery cable cover, which could cause a fire.There’s very little chance of that happening – very little – but the risk was deemed serious enough to warrant an enormous recall.

Government’s pre-strike advice..Get fuel, quick!


The Government has urged motorists to fill with fuel now or risk being immobile over the Easter weekend.The advice – not explicit, but implied when a Downing Street spokesman said drivers should take “prudent” steps to ensure they have enough fuel – has raised fears of a run on fuel stations over the next few days.The Government spokesman encouraged people to consider a “contingency” plan if fuel tanker drivers go on strike.

First Chinese, Great Wall Steed vehicle to go on sale in UK

It’s a timely reminder, given yesterday’s budget, that cheap French motoring is very close at hand.And we do mean cheap: buyers will be able to bag a Duster 4×4 from £12,500.
