Lamborghini Countach for sale: rare right-hand drive

Ok, so it’s not a 25th Anniversary model, and it has covered 8,500 miles, rather than the previous example’s incredibly low 116. But this is still one of only 321 right-hand drive Lamborghini Countachs ever produced, and it looks absolutely stunning.
With a white leather interior to match the white paint, it’s also just incredibly evocative of the 1980s – it was built in 1982, halfway through the Countach’s 16-year, 2,042-model production run.
This also means it’s an LP500S variant, and one of the first to be fitted with the larger 4.8-litre V12, driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
Performance is still pretty startling today – especially when paired with period braking technology, safety levels and the Countach’s legendary lack of visibility. By which we mean seeing out of it, not being seen; the latter most definitely won’t be a problem here.
0-62mph takes 5.4 seconds and top speed is over 160mph. Although whether this example will ever get the chance to see those numbers again remains to be seen.
For the past 23 years it has been sitting in dry storage. So, although we’re told it has been regularly started and serviced – including a recent round of work totalling £4,500 in the last two months – the resulting 13,642km (8,543) on the odometer means lots of its value is derived from having not been driven.
And sadly, the next owner may well feel the need to maintain it that way.
If you fancy taking on the challenge, this Lamborghini Countach is being auctioned as part of the Historics at Brooklands sale on 7 June 2014.
The estimate is £110,000-£145,000 – so you’d better take a hammer to the big piggy bank.
