Ultimate Nissan GT-R lands in the UK

The £85,000 Nissan GT-R track pack edition has arrived in the UK, featuring track-biased modifications while being fully road legal. The mods include the addition of lightweight RAYS alloy wheels, each 2.5kg lighter, and extra brake cooling ducts in the carbon front splitter.

To further lighten the car, the rear seats have been removed – such as they were – and the front seats swapped out for a lighter set, covered in high friction fabric that “allows occupants to ‘stick’ to the seats during hard cornering and braking,” according to Nissan.Somebody should tell Nissan that vinyl does the same thing, and probably a lot cheaper.

There are no changes to the 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo engine, or the twin-clutch gearbox, so the car’s 542bhp power output and 2.8-second 0-62mph time remain. That’s insanely quick, really – very close to a Bugatti Veyron.

The pack costs £10,000 in addition to the GT-R’s standard £75,000 list price.
