Toyota world’s top-selling automaker in 2013

Toyota has managed to maintain the world’s largest automaker title again, for the second year in a row.
Bloomberg reports that last year the Japanese automaker managed to sell 9.98 million vehicles, followed closely by GM, which delivered 9.71 million vehicles (around 270,000 vehicles less).
In 2012 the gap between these two companies was 460,000 units so GM is not far behind.
The third automaker in 2013 was Volkswagen with a reported 9.7 million vehicles sold (final figures will be provided in March), so these three companies are all quite close to breaking the 10-million car milestone.
For 2014 Toyota is estimating they will be able to deliver 10.32 million cars globally and with the expansion of Chinese and South American market it is going to be a close fight between these three automakers.
