This is how it looks and feels to drive the single-seat BAC Mono
Ariel Atom is considered as one of the most extreme track oriented sports cars. It has no roof, no windshield or doors, and it is extremely fast. (Please watch in Full Screen mode)
But there is one car that probably offers even greater extreme driving experience – the single-seat BAC Mono.
Weighing just 540kg with power coming from a 280bhp 2.3-litre 4 cylinder petrol engine by Cosworth linked to a F3-spec 6-speed sequential gearbox by Hewland, the Mono goes from 0-60mph in just 2.8 seconds while the top speed is 170mph.
The BAC Mono with its carbon-fibre shell, single-passenger steel safety cell and FIA-compliant steel rollover structure is basically a Formula One car for the road.
It costs roughly £80k and with central-seat format it offers amazing handling, balance and visibility.
Xcar takes a closer look at this single-seat sports car, giving us a good overview how it looks and possibly feels like to drive one.
