Bill and Michael Daly of Wrentham auto service station Bill’s Automotive Center Inc. will be paying up to $116,000 for what’s known as clean scanning.

The issuing of passing inspection stickers to cars that failed emissions control tests violates several state laws. Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office accused Bill Daly, and his nephew Michael, of violating these laws, which prompted a settlement to resolve the accusations.
