Vauxhall’s upped the stakes in the super-saloon market by launching a new VXR8 GTS, which packs 580PS thanks to its supercharged V8 engine. At £54,999 the rebadged Holden HSV is significantly cheaper than all of its performance rivals, such as the BMW M5, Jaguar XFR-S and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.The new GTS is Australia’s most powerful production car.

Vauxhall adds BiTurbo engine to Zafira Tourer range

Vauxhall has added its 195PS BiTurbo diesel engine to the Zafira Sports Tourer line-up. The powerful engine means a 0-60mph sprint of 8.5 seconds despite the vehicles hefty weight.

Vauxhall launches smaller 1.6l diesel engine


Vauxhall is set to launch a new Euro 6 compliant 1.6-litre CDTi Ecotec diesel, which will replace the 1.7-litre and certain lower-powered 2.0-litre power units in the range.

New car sales continue to grow in November


The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) confirmed that new car sales in the UK continue to perform well in a weakening Europe. In November, registrations rose by 11.3% to 149,191 units, on the back of increased private demand, and the Focus overtook the Fiesta as the UK’s best selling car.
