New Jersey explores Right to Repair law

Aaron Lowe, vice president, government affairs at the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), testified last Thursday in New Jersey at a hearing on Right to Repair legislation that is under consideration in the state assembly. The bill introduced by Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, D-N.J., would require that car companies make available to independent repair shops the same information and tools that they make available to their franchised dealers.

Florida governor signs law to repeal ethanol requirement

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed into law legislation to repeal the requirement that all gasoline offered for sale in the state contain a percentage of ethanol, according to the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA).

Under previous law, the Florida Renewable Fuels Standard required that all gasoline sold or offered for sale by a terminal supplier, importer, blender or wholesaler in Florida contain 9 to 10 percent ethanol, or other alternative fuel, by volume.

Maine governor signs bill to ban fuel with more than 10 percent ethanol

Legislation (LD 453) that prohibits a person from selling or offering for sale petrol that contains corn-based ethanol as an additive at a level greater than 10 percent by volume was signed into law by Maine Gov. Paul LePage, according to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).
