The Korea Herald reports that unnamed sources say that Hyundai has decided to lower the price of the Tucson fuel cell sport utility vehicle to compete with Toyota’s Mirai fuel cell car .

Hyundai will build 4th and 5th plants in China

Beijing Hyundai, a 50-50 joint venture between Hyundai and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., will begin building its fourth and fifth plants in China next year to respond to surging demands in the world’s largest automobile market. Each plant will eventually have annual production capacity of 300,000 units; the new plants will increase Beijing Hyundai Motor Co.’s capacity to 1.65 million units per year.

Hyundai Motor Co. said Thursday its profit sank nearly 30 percent for the July-September quarter, hurt by a stronger South Korean currency and weak sales growth in its home market.
