GM approves Opel SUV and engine investments in Germany, Poland
Opel will add a flagship SUV to its lineup, the company said in a statement. The General Motors division will invest €245 million in its home plant in Ruesselsheim, Germany, to build the SUV, Opel said in a statement Thursday.
GM’s China sales reach 3M in 2014
General Motors and its joint ventures sold their 3 millionth vehicle in China in 2014. This is the second consecutive year that GM has reached the milestone, a month earlier than last year. General Motors ordered half a million replacement ignition switches almost two months before it alerted federal safety regulators of the issues that prompted a recall of millions of vehicles, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing email exchanges between the automaker and its supplier Delphi Automotive Plc .
