The ruble’s plunge is creating a “bloodbath” for automakers in Russia, Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn earned more than $10 million last year, putting him on track to become the best-paid Japan executive for the fourth time in five years.

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn elaborated on his goal to make the French-Japanese alliance one of the world’s top three vehicle producers, saying automakers nowadays must achieve economies of scale to remain competitive.
Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has been elected to succeed former PSA/Peugeot-Citroen chief Philippe Varin as president of ACEA, the European auto industry’s lobbying body. The change takes effect immediately, ACEA said Monday.

After getting a new mandate as Renault CEO through to 2018, Carlos Ghosn has high ambitions for the automaker and its partner Nissan. He wants to catch industry leaders Toyota, General Motors and Volkswagen.
