
US auto giant Ford showed off its new Mustang at Asia’s biggest tech fair Tuesday, billing it as “the smartest Mustang to date”, with voice controls and early warning collision systems.

US auto giant Ford showed off its new Mustang at Asia’s biggest tech fair Tuesday, billing it as “the smartest Mustang to date”, with voice controls and early warning collision systems.

Ford issued safety recalls Thursday for nearly 1.4 million cars in North America, mostly in the US, to fix potential steering and other problems.

Ford is offering its patented inflatable safety belt technology to other companies and industries, including competitive automotive manufacturers. Ford introduced the first production automobile rear inflatable safety belts in 2010, and continues to expand availability on Ford and Lincoln brand vehicles.

Ford has named Joel Piaskowski to head its design team in Europe, where the automaker hopes to years of heavy financial losses 2015.
