Los Angeles dealer and sports car tuner Beau Boeckmann has developed a $1 million Ford GT-based super car with a top speed of 225 miles per hour. The Galpin Ford GTR1 runs on a twin-turbocharged 5.4-liter, V-8 engine that produces 1,024 hp and 739 pound feet of torque.

The price of classic cars has swelled since the worst of the U.S. economic downturn. From August 2009 to April 2013, one index that tracks classic car values rose 54 percent to $1.45 million.

Europe’s car market may have finally stopped shrinking, but a manufacturers’ price war will not let up until sales increase significantly, Ford of Europe’s sales boss, Roelant de Waard, said.

Ford is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Focus BEV vehicles equipped with high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured Sept. 15, 2011, through May 6, 2013; and model year 2013 Focus ST vehicles equipped with HID headlights, manufactured Feb. 16, 2012, through May 7, 2013, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
