Sywell Pistons and Props festival, 28-29 September Preview

The best classic cars and ‘planes will gather in Northamptonshire for the inaugural Sywell Classic – Pistons and Props motoring festival, to be held at Northamptonshire’s Sywell Aerodrome on 28-29 September.
The new event combines all aspects of vintage lifestyle and entertainment, this two-day event promises to appeal to lovers of nostalgia.
As well as static displays from some of the UK’s leading classic motoring clubs, there will be live action with single seaters, sports cars and saloons battling it out on the ‘Racing Runway’ while on the ‘Sprint Strip’ Dragsters and motorcycles go head to head on the 200-metre straight-line sprint.
Chipmunks, Be2s, Tiger Moths and Tomahawks are just a few of the planes that will take to the skies as owners and clubs fly into the show. Plus there will be aerial displays from Hangar 11’s Spitfire and Mustang, the Trig Aerobatic Team’s Pitts Special S-1D biplanes and the Breitling Wingwalkers, the World’s only aerobatic formation wing walking team.
Back on the ground, and a vintage funfair, the Wall of Death, and sideshows will keep families entertained. Music will be provided by all girl harmony group Elle and the Pocket Belles and rockabilly band The Hound Dogs. Visitors can make a weekend of it by taking advantage of the excellent camping facilities as well as enjoying live evening entertainment on Saturday night in Hangar One with a swingin’ 60s party featuring music from Sounds Force 5 and the Swinging Blue Jeans.
