Sébastien Loeb Pikes Peak testing the Peugeot 208 T16 at Mont Ventoux
Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak got a chance at last to perform a dress rehearsal outside of Peugeot Sports factory at Mont Ventoux before June’s Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado.
The Mont Ventoux in the south of France is known mainly from Tour de France cycle race offering steep terrain and high attitudes.
“This is an important run because Pikes Peak is very different from a nice, smooth race track,” noted Sébastien Loeb. “It is vital for us to evaluate the car on a terrain that is more like what we will find in the States. This road will give us a reasonably accurate idea…”
The 208 T16 Pikes Peak car packs an impressive 875 horsepower from a twin-turbo 3.2-litre V6 with power sent to all four wheels. Weighing just 875 kg it does 0-62 mph in just 1.8 seconds.
