Renault unveils Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy

Renault has unveiled a limited edition version of the Megane Renaultsport, with more power and a new titanium exhaust system as standard.
The Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy will get its official UK launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, with order books opening shortly after the event in June. Deliveries will start in October.
The new, faster Megane has been created in an attempt to retake the Nurburgring FWD lap record, which was claimed by the SEAT Leon Cupra 280 in March, with a time of 7 minutes and 58.4 seconds.
To make it more competitive, the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy gets a cup chassis and limited slip differential as standard, along with adjustable Öhlins Road & Track dampers and bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2tyres.
The Megane’s turbocharged 2.0-litre engine has also been reworked to 275PS, with a maximum torque of 360Nm available from 3000 to 5000rpm. Despite the additional performance, fuel consumption and emissions remain unchanged at a claimed 37.7 mpg and 174g of CO2/km.
Renault has worked with Akrapovi? to create an all-new titanium exhaust system for the Megane and each 275 Trophy will be adorned in Trophy branding. Interior enhancements include leather and Alcantara Recaro seats with red stitching and alloy gear knob.
UK pricing and production details are yet to be announced, but expect to pay in the region of £29,000 when the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy goes on sale in the summer.
