Renault Twin’Z Concept unveiled
Renault has unveiled the Twin’Z Concept – electric supermini with five doors and a rear-wheel drive layout. The Twin’Z is 3627mm long, 1705mm wide, 1506mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2495mm and weighs 980 kg.
Power comes from a rear-mounted 68bhp electric motor with 226 Nm of torque. The lithium-ion battery pack is located beneath the floor to offer maximum space, providing a range of up to 100 miles from a full charge. Top speed is 81mph, making it also suitable for out of city trips.
The concept’s styling was developed with the help of British designer Ross Lovegrove and it rides on futuristic 18-inch alloys with specially developed 205/40 R18 Michelin tyres.
The concept has rearward opening doors with no centre pillar for easier access to a very minimalistic and futuristic interior with thin and light seats.
The Twin’Z is purely a concept, but some of its styling is expected to be part of the next-generation Twingo.
