Porsche 911s star at Historics classic car auction

Historics at Brooklands has lined up a strong line-up of classic Porsche 911s for its 31 August sale.
Assuming you don’t yet have 911 fatigue, the sale represents a great opportunity to bag yourself a slim-bumpered example – although they’re an interesting bunch, which will probably be bought for a fraction of the value of a 911 2.7RS.
An interesting pairing are a 1984/1985 3.2-litre Carreras (one to 1973 RS Martini specification) estimated at £26,000-32,000, and a 1991 3.6-litre Carrera 2 (above, £28,000-35,000), all faithfully presented with the distinctive 2.7RS look.
The Porsche Rennsport theme is carried through at Historics’ sale to a model that’s evocative of the development of the RS model, a 1975 Porsche 911RSR recreation, that has had just two owners over the past 31 years and is prepared for fast road use. Its estimate of £20,000-28,000 is somewhat shy of the original’s.
A 1971 Porsche 911E in its original red coachwork (below) is sure to attract significant attention too. This left-hand drive example, first registered in the USA, features extensive history and has been immensely well cared for, and comes with an estimate of £26,000-34,000.
Other Porsche models on the consignment list for the 31 August sale include:
- 1970 Porsche 911T: Est: £20,000-25,000
- 1971 Porsche 911S. Est: £28,000-35,000
- 1973 Porsche 356 Speedster by Martin and Walker Technic. Est: £13,000-16,000
- 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. Est: £11,000-14,000
