Porsche 911 Turbo S vs McLaren 12C Spider with Chris Harris
Chris Harris has been driving the Turbo S and make the very valid point that the Porsche is now so pricey that it may be facing competition from the ‘entry-level’ supercars such as the McLaren 12C!
The implication is that at its price point, the Porsche may be difficult to justify when the same stack of cash can land you in a bona fide supercar. Sure, the new 911 Turbo S comes stock with a dual clutch transmission, wide, aggressive body work, and blistering performance, but does it really deserve a place amongst its exalted rivals?
The Porsche and the McLaren straddle the same line between high-performance sports car and supercar, each tipping slightly out of their respective categories. Which wins out in this battle of refinement and tractability?
As Harris explains in the clip, it is not as clear a contest as you may first think.
