One-off Morgan SP1 (Special Project 1) debuts at Salon Prive
Morgan has unveiled the one-off SP1 (Special Project 1) at Salon Prive, the first product of Morgan’s new Special Projects division.
The idea behind SP1 is to showcase every aspect of the skilled craftsmanship utilised at Morgan, that is harnessed over 105 years of bespoke, coach-built, manufacturing.
The SP1 takes inspiration from the 2009 LifeCar concept vehicle, with the handcrafted aluminium body entirely redesigned with improved proportions.
The rear end is quite unique to Morgan, but the front continues to wear the familiar face.
Under the bonnet is a naturally aspirated 3.7-litre Ford V6 engine, as used in the Morgan V6 Roadster.
There is also a new suspension setup, a bespoke Engine Management System and custom sports exhaust system.
The interior reveals Ash Wood, combined with African Bubinga Red Hardwood chosen by the client to represent his business life spent on that continent. There is also plenty of natural aniline leather, and an infotainment system, driven through an iPad.
