New Subaru Forester Revealed Ahead of LA Debut


Subaru has released the first official photos and details of the all-new fourth generation Forester crossover SUV, which will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

Just as previous generations, the Forester uses Impreza underpinnings. Compared to the outgoing model it has a bolder profile, offering a roomier interior with increased rear seat legroom, and an enlarged cargo area. It is longer(+35mm), wider (+20mm), taller (+15mm) and has a stretched wheelbase by 25mm.

In-demand infotainment features will be offered, including smartphone integration, navigation, rear view camera, and harman/kardon premium audio amplifier and speakers.

The U.S. spec model that will debut in Los Angeles, will be offered with a 170bhp 2.5-litre four-cylinder boxer and a 250bhp 2.0-litre turbo. Both six-speed manual and CVT gearboxes will be available.

UK customers are very likely have the option to choose from the same 148bhp 2.0-litre petrol and 145bhp 2.0 diesel found in the current car, along with the new 2.0-litre turbo.
