To promote the new Note, Nissan has unveiled a one-off Note rowing boat, which was ‘driven’ last month at the 2012 Olympic venue by three superstar Olympic rowers.

The idea is not new at all as previously this year MINI showed a Cooper Convertible boat as part of Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta and Fiat unveiled three 500-inspired personal watercrafts.

The Note Rowing Boat is the least exciting of the three as it is the standard car sitting on a floating platform and it moves by rowing.

During the special promo event, the Note Rowing Boat was tested by three olympics rowers – 2012 Olympic gold medalists Helen Glover and Sophie Hosking as well as 2013 World Rowing Championship coxless pairs winner Polly Swann.

Helen Glover said: “I wish I could have a camera system like this in some of my races – it certainly would make seeing where my rivals a bit easier!”

Polly Swann added: “It’s certainly a novel experience rowing down Eton Dorney Lake in a car. I’m amazed at how wide the doors open – I could achieve almost a complete rowing stroke, which produced more than enough power to push the Note down the lake.”
