New Audi A3 Sportback Revealed
The new Audi A3 Sportback is 58mm longer than its predecessor (35mm longer than the new three-door), the wheelbase now measures 2,636mm (+58mm) and its boot space is 380-litres (+10 litres).
Visually the main changes compared to the three-door model include an extra pair of doors and roof rails. The A3 Sportback will be offered in a choice of 13 colors – three solid finishes, eight metallic finishes and two pearl-effect finishes.
The new Audi A3 Sportback is up to 90kg lighter thanks to the new MQB platform and lightweight design principle.
Engine line-up will be identical to the three-door model, meaning two petrol engines will be offered (1.4- and 1.8-litre TFSI engines) and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel.
Two more diesel engines and one petrol unit will follow later.
The base 1.4 TFSI Sportback SE starts at £19,825, while the higher spec 1.8 TFSI Sportback S line is priced from £27,180. New A3 Sportback will arrive at Audi showrooms in early 2013.
