Mercedes recreates Silver Arrow W 25 1934 historic world speed record

The whole valley was trembling with the roaring sound of the Silver Arrow W 25 racing uphill at the Klausen Hill Climb race.

IWC Schaffhausen teamed with Mercedes-Benz to bring this Legend back to the Klausen pass where it set the record back in 1934.

The Silver Arrow W 25 was an impressive vehicle when it was unveiled. It ran a mile in just 30.76 seconds at an average speed of 197 mph, which is pretty wild even for todays cars.

Former Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton commented on the W 25, “.. I’ve had the privilege of driving that car, and it scared the life out of me.”

The video pays great homage to the Silver Arrow W 25 and also is a nice promo for IWC watches.
