McLaren P1 made its debut in production guise last month at the Geneva Motor Show.

Just 375 cars will be made with first deliveries later this year. Combined power from a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and electric motor is 903bhp.

The petrol engine delivers 727bhp and 720Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces another 176bhp and 260Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In purely EV mode the range is up to 12 miles with an average speed of 30 mph.

The P1 starts at £866,000, fully equipped as standard for road and track use.

To get a little more sense of what went into developing this petrol-electric supercar, McLaren has released a new video showing the P1 driven in the extreme conditions of the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden.

The P1 will show its power in public for the first time at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
