Land Rover is celebrating Discovery’s 25th anniversary this year and it looks like there are some bigger changes planned as the company has released a video “Discovery will become a family of vehicles from 2015.”

Details are limited, but reports have been circulating for some time that the successor to the Freelander will join the Discovery family with a new nameplate.

The prototypes have been testing for some time now and the production model is expected to debut later this year just in time for a market launch in 2015.

It most likely means that Land Rover will separate its vehicles into three categories. Range Rover will be for luxury vehicles, a Dual Purpose for the Defender range and the Discovery family for leisure vehicles like the Discovery and Freelander.
