The Agera One:1 is celebrating 20 years of Koenigsegg with the title as “world’s first Megacar”.

This limited hyper-super-megacar is what Koenigsegg calls world’s first 1:1 (One:1) power to curb weight ratio homologated production car (kg/hp).

The Agera One:1 weighs 1,340kg and produces 1340 metric horsepower(1322bhp) from a twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 linked to a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox and an electronic differential.

Based on the Agera, the One:1 comes with a lighter carbon fibre chassis and a fully active aero with independent left and right front flaps under front splitter and hydraulically actuated top mounted dual plane rear wing.

This new Swedish beast generates a 610kg of downforce at 160mph and has an impressive 2G cornering capability on road legal production cup tyres.

It is not just about power and improved aerodynamics, but it is also technically quite advanced with 3G and GPS controlled Predictive Active Chassis and Aero Track Mode. The 3G connection is for telemetry, performance, lap times and software upgrades, including owners iPhone app.

For example to save weight, the 3D printed titanium exhaust end piece saves 400 grams compared to aluminium counterparts.

Koenigsegg says that top speed has not been a priority, as the One:1 is a track focused car – however, it is expected to be, the world’s fastest homologated production car, with a top speed of more than 273mph (440 km/h).

Just six cars including the development car will be built, each already sold prior to this week’s Geneva introduction.
