Hyundai Intrado Concept debuts in Geneva, hints at a new compact crossover
Hyundai is showing a new Intrado concept at the Geneva Motor Show, which hints at approach to a new compact crossover.
The Intrado concept was styled in Rüsselsheim, Germany by the Hyundai Design Centre Europe and is the first concept created under design direction of Peter Schreyer.
The Intrado concept is more than a design exercise as it also shows how Hyundai’s next-generation fuel cell, more advanced materials and technologies expected in upcoming models.
The concept uses carbon fibre reinforced plastic in its construction and the next-gen fuel cell powertrain uses a 36kW lithium-ion battery, providing a range of 373 miles (600km) with the hydrogen tanks positioned under the rear seats and trunk floor.
The four-seater features frameless doors and there is are no B-pillars, making the access to the cabins much easier.
The name Intrado comes from the aviation, and is the underside area of an aircraft’s wing that creates lift.
