Honda puts safety first into their vehicles

Car manufacturers over the world strive to combine the most up-to-date technology for comfort, eco-awareness and safety. New models come out every year which contain cutting edge vehicle technology and slick upgrades of what have become standard features in any car.
The Honda Insight is a classic example of just how much research, design and technology goes into the production of a new vehicle. But the model does far more than that. It also put’s safety first and this is something buyers need to recognise.
One of the most important elements of vehicle safety and one which has seen millions of pounds of investment is the braking system.
The technology for braking gets more sophisticated all the time and Honda has certainly excelled here. One of the most recent developments is electronic brake force distribution, otherwise known as EBD.
Automotive engineers have long understood that the weight of a vehicle is not evenly distributed on its wheels at any given moment. This makes sense even to the layman, but how does it affect safety?
An EBD system can detect precisely how much weight is being carried by a wheel and affect the amount of braking power which gets directed to each when you stop the car.
This can be critical if you are driving at high speeds on the motorway, or in bad weather, as such refined technology prevents the car from losing control in reaction to rapid braking.
It isn’t just braking in severe conditions which can be dangerous. You can be coasting along a straight, well-maintained road and still run the risk of an accident if things aren’t up to scratch.
An animal could run in front of the car or you could turn a bend and come upon a line of idling cars. When you slam on your brakes, will your car stop quickly enough?
A Honda feature known as Break Assist ensures that your car halts as soon as you hit the brakes, which can mean the difference between a safe stop and a nasty fender-bender. Honda’s commitment to safety really is paramount.
All this means that we’ll have plenty of safety features to choose from when taking to the road. Don’t just take our word for it though, even super-spy James Bond is a fan of the Honda brand, with the Honda CRF250R his car of choice in the latest espionage film caper Skyfall.
