Last month Hennessey Venom GT accelerated from 0-300 km/h (186mph) in just 13.63 seconds at the Ellington Airport in Texas, setting a new Guinness World Record.

The Venom GT is powered by a 1244bhp 7.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 1,155 lb ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via Ricardo 6-speed manual, enabling the 1244kg vehicle to reach 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds. Hennessey claims that the car can achieve a top speed of 272 mph, which has not been tested yet.
