The Ford Escort was manufactured between 1968 and 2000. Now 13 years since the last one rolled off the Halewood assembly line in July 2000 a concept with the Escort nameplate is being showcased at the 2013 Auto Shanghai.

The new Escort Concept previews an upcoming compact saloon which will be sold exclusively in China. The concept car features Ford’s most recent styling language, showing a similar hexagon front grille, LED light cluster and an overall look found on the larger Mondeo.

The Escort nameplate could work well also in UK as it is the best-selling car of all time with over 4,000,000 sold during in its 32-year production run.
