Fangio’s 1970 IKA Torino 380S under hammer at Silverstone 15-16 November

The 1970 IKA Torino 380S that was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio is being sold for no reserve at Silverstone Auctions’ classic car sale at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show held at the NEC on 15-16 November.
It is believed Fangio was gifted the Torino 380S by IKA in respect of his contribution to the creation of what is commonly referred to as Argentina’s national car. Included in the sale are many documents related to Fangio’s ownership of the car, including insurance documents, an Argentinian vehicle green card, handbook, service card and Fangio’s international licence.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: ‘By success rate Juan Manuel Fangio can be regarded as the greatest racing driver of all time. His Formula 1 percentages still eclipse any other driver, so if you want to own a car that has been touched with motor racing greatness and won’t break the bank, then this is surely it.’
The IKA is said to be offered in highly original condition, and in exceptionally good order. It has been untouched by his family since he passed away in 1995.
