Extremely rare McLaren F1 crashes into tree in Italy

Look at the car above. Just beautiful! This is a Mclaren F1, chassis #072 with the factory downforce package and a beautiful red and white exterior.
The F1 is one of the most expensive modern day cars. Recently UK buyer paid £6.2m for a red one.
Yesterday this red and white F1 was crashed in Italy during a tour of four cars including one driven by Rowan Atkinson. This time mr. Atkinson managed to stay away from accidents, though he has crashed his F1 already 2 times. Last time it cost insurers almost £1m to repair his F1.
Details are limited, but according to lanazione.it, the accident happened between Saline di Volterra and Pomarance, when the driver lost control of the car and ended up crashing into a ditch, hitting a tree upside town.
Speed was likely the main issue as the two occupants were airlifted to hospital, where their condition is reportedly stable.
The F1 looks in pretty bad shape, but as it is such a rare vehicle we are sure McLaren will rebuild it soon.
