Congestion- charge exemption for Nissan Pixo
Nissan has made its compact city car, the Pixo, more London-friendly as it cuts emissions to sub-100g/km making it congestion-charge exempt. The car, priced from £7250, has dropped its emissions by 5g to 99g/km CO2 through changes to the engine tune and aerodynamic improvements, and there’s also new paint colours and a revised interior.
The carmaker says the vehicle combines an efficient three-cylinder engine and compact dimensions to create a small car that’s perfect for driving in the city.
Enhancements to the interior include door times around the glovebox and centre console are now black rather than grey adding ‘a touch of class’, says Nissan. Every Pixo is also now fitted with an electronic auto-dimming rear view mirror.
Two new metallic colours called Glistening Grey and Midnight Purple have been introduced along with six other available shades.
The Pixo runs a 1.0-litre 68PS engine with two trims, Visia and n-tec with prices ranging from £7250 to £9150 for a high-spec auto gearbox version. The n-tec grade adds front power windows, 50:50 split folding rear seats, side airbags, central locking, 14″ alloy wheels and metallic paint.
First released in 2009, the Pixo has a host of fresh competition in its segment from the VW up!, its sister cars the SEAT Mii and Skoda Citigo.
