Privacy concerns voiced over Austin, Texas license plate scanners
Amid complaints that the privacy of drivers is being invaded, Austin police say their use of an automatic license plate reader is an invaluable tool in locating stolen vehicles.
In a report released last week, the American Civil Liberties Union said the use of the readers was widespread and that the lack of state policies on how the data is used and how long it is stored raises serious privacy concerns.
Tata Motors Ties up with Fusion Automotive to Enter Australian Market

Tata Motors, India’s largest automotive player and the world’s fourth largest truck and bus manufacturer, announced its entry into Australia, under a new independent distributor, M/s Fusion Automotive Pty Ltd. Australia. The latter will have exclusively marketing and distribution of the Tata Motors brand in Australia.
Kazakhstan Traffic deaths increase 54%
Some 8,462 road accidents, resulting in the death of 1,167 people and injuries to 10,837 people were recorded during the six months of 2013, Committee of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
“In comparison with the same period of the last year the number of road accidents raised by 49 percent, and the number of the killed and injured in these accidents rose by five and 59 percent respectively,” the Committee’s report released on Monday said.
