American Power Group receives EPA approval for 85 additional OUL engines

American Power Group Corporation announced that its subsidiary, American Power Group, Inc. (“APG”), has received online notification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) that its recent Clean Alternative Fuel Vehicle and Engine Conversion Submissions have been approved for the following Outside Useful Life (“OUL”) engines:

  • Detroit Diesel:   Series 60  11.1L to 14L   (2002-1987)
  • Volvo/Mack:      D11, D12, D13, D16, E7, MP7, MP8, MP10   10.8L to 16.1L (2009-2002)

Ford recalls Focus BEV and Focus ST vehicles

Ford is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Focus BEV vehicles equipped with high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured Sept. 15, 2011, through May 6, 2013; and model year 2013 Focus ST vehicles equipped with HID headlights, manufactured Feb. 16, 2012, through May 7, 2013, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Redesigned Focus 1.0 EcoBoost to emit just 99g/km CO2

Ford is launching a new even more efficient version of its 1.0-litre EcoBoost three-cylinder engine in the Focus – which emits just 99g/km of CO2.

That means no annual car tax and – if you live in London – no having to pay the congestion charge. The specially calibrated version of the 100PS returns a claimed 65.7mpg thanks to ultra-low rolling resistance tyres and revised gearing.
