Car Care Council Women’s Board elects Amy Mattinat president

The Car Care Council Women’s Board (WB) announces Amy Mattinat, Auto Craftsmen, has been elected the new president of the organization, effective following the WB reception at AAPEX on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nev.
In this position, Mattinat will preside over all meetings and board leadership, and supervise the activities of the board for a three-year term.
“I love being a part of the Car Care Council Women’s Board and I am honored to be the next president,” said Mattinat. “I am looking forward to presiding at our meetings and helping our group of dedicated automotive women move forward with our mission of providing career leadership to women in the automotive aftermarket, providing car care information to female audiences and encouraging young people to investigate opportunities in the automotive aftermarket.”
Mattinat is president of Auto Craftsmen, an independent auto repair sales and service center in Montpelier, Vt. In addition to managing the business, Mattinat writes a monthly car care newsletter and a magazine column called “Under the Hood,” is the author of “How to Buy a Great Used Car” and teaches women car care clinics on a regular basis. She has been a part of the auto care industry for more than 18 years.
Mattinat has been a WB associate for seven years, and is also a member of the Automotive Expert Advisory Panel and Rotary International, and an executive board member of the Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation. In 2012, Mattinat received the Women’s Board Shop Owner of the Year Award.
“I am always looking for more ways to educate the public about car care. I enjoy going into the local automotive high school classes and encouraging young people to make a career in our industry and I love mentoring young women entering the world of automotive,” said Mattinat. “It’s a vibrant industry that is always growing and changing. I am proud to be a part of it.”
Previous WB presidents include Kathleen Schmatz, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Jennifer Tio, Maximum Marketing Services, Katie Noga, SKF and Ruth A. Ehlinger, AAA.
