BMW teases all-electric i3
BMW has released the first teaser video of the compact i3 that will be unveiled on July 29th. The video teaser is titled: “The all-electric BMW i3 is coming”
We have seen the upcoming BMW i3 testing on public roads since early 2011 and it is soon time for an official reveal.
The all-electric i3 is expected to use a rear-mounted electric motor with 170 bhp and 249 Nm of torque. Range from a full charge is around 100 miles.
BMW also has a range-extended variant id development that is expected to use a 0.65-litre two-cylinder motorcycle engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery. Expected range is around 186 miles.
