Audi A1 is What Car? Car of the Year 2013 Best Supermini
What Car? Car of the year 2013 awards unveiled that the Audi A1 was deemed to be the best Supermini for more than £15,000. At just above £15,000 the Audi A1 is the cheapest in the Audi range, but the experts believe that it still retains the high level of standards that come from the Audi’s more expensive offerings.
The variants in engine size available can be selected on how and where you would chose to drive the A1. The 1.2 is best for a town car purpose; yet the 1.4 models and 2.0 litre diesel engines are ideal for being flexible and fast. At a fuel cost of £9-£13 per hundred miles, depending on engine size the Audi A1 keeps their cars economical with the different specifications all featuring a long top gear to keep the revs down and economy up at higher speeds.
One of the main selling points of an Audi is the fact that they pride themselves on having a high level of luxury and quality. The Audi A1 has two big front seats built for comfort and quality along with adjustable seat and steering wheel which will ensure the driver is comfortable for the journey. Although like most Audi’s the additional extras will add significantly to the price. The ride can be deemed to be quite firm which may put off some drivers if travelling long distances..
The Audi A1 continues with similar styling to that of the more expensive models with the sharp creases and intense LED lights front and back. The sport exterior body styling package is enhanced with a contrasting coloured roof line, front spoiler lip and side skirts. This sophisticated design is an understated way to set your A1 apart, this customization is a nice way to tailor your Audi specifically to your preference.
Overall the Audi A1 delivers the quality that’s expected with the Audi franchise but it is quite expensive with other hatchbacks noticeably cheaper. The Audi A1 is certainly worth having a look at if your budget can stretch far enough.
