ATS unveils a new Leggera two-seat roadster

Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) built cars back in the 60s for few years. Now the brand is back in business and here is their new Leggera two-seat roadster, that was previewed last November, ready for market launch.
The Leggera is inspired by European roadsters, using a 1.6-litre turbo four in a front-mid position for 50/50 weight distribution featuring a stainless steel tubular frame.
The suspension is double wishbone with adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers and an optional kit can be fitted with Unibals to make the adjustments to custom set up.
Weighing just 650kg, the 1.6-litre Turbo engine produces between 207-237bhp.
There are two versions, the 300 and 365 LEGGERA, with the number determining the weight / power ratio of the model.
The engine is linked in standard to a 5-speed manual, while th streightcut gearbox and a 6-speed sequential gearbox are optional.
The 7-inch rear differential is offered as standard along with 16-inch alloy wheels.
The interior is quite minimalistic, showing soft Italian leather and wooden steering wheel.
Customers can also choose from 4 point seat belts, lightweight carbon seats and a full FIA approved roll bar in place of the more traditional dual chrome rollbars.
The standard model goes from 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 136mph.
As part of market launch, ATS is also offering 5 cars called 420 Super Leggera SS with a naturally aspirated 286bhp 2.2-litre unit linked to a 6-speed gearbox and race limited-slip differential. The 25 chrome molybdenum frame chassis reduces the weight of the to a little more than 600 kg.
