Aston Martin has announced pricing and performance specs for the the new V12 Vantage S.  In the UK the V12 Vantage S is priced from £138,000 plus taxes.

Powered by a new 565bhp AM28 6.0-litre V12 engine with 457 lb ft of torque, the V12 Vantage S goes from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds) – making it the brand’s fastest accelerating production car to date after the limited edition, and sold-out, One-77 hypercar. Top speed is 205 mph.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: “The new V12 Vantage S brings our winning GT3 race formula to the road. It’s a car for those customers who want superior sporting performance in a ‘gentleman’s suit’. It’s the most pure, yet understated, driving machine we can imagine today.”

The engine is linked to a new Sportshift III AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox with motorsport-style paddle shift changes for optimum performance delivery and efficiency. The unit is also 25 kg lighter than the outgoing six-speed manual gearbox.

There is also a new lighter and smaller exhaust system derived from that of the One-77 hypercar.

Visual updates over the outgoing V12 Vantage include carbon-fibre grille, new lightweight forged alloy ten-spoke wheels and exterior graphics pack that includes black painted roof and part-painted boot panel.
