Ford has unveiled the new EcoSport SUV for Europe at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The compact EcoSport SUV is one of the first Ford vehicles in Europe to offer Ford SYNC AppLink system that enables drivers to voice-control smartphone apps.

Other highlights include Ford SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system as well as SYNC Emergency Assistance.

The all-new EcoSport will be offered with Ford’s 123bhp 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the “International Engine of the Year,” a 108bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine; and a 90bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine.

The EcoSport is built on Ford’s global small car platform and will go on sale at the end of this year. Ford has also confirmed plans to bring to Europe the next generation Edge SUV.
