Pre-war racers at Donington Historic

After only two years the Donington Historic Festival has become a major fixture on the international historic racing calendar, and the third Festival will build on that fantastic foundation.

The Historic Grand Prix Association (HGPCA) for 2013 will  celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first car race at Donington Park in 1933 by bringing a pre-War Grand Prix grid to the third Donington Historic Festival (3-5 May 2013), and celebrate one of the greatest racing drivers the sport has known. Ayrton Senna’s Formula One career began in 1983 at Donington Park, where he had his first-ever test in a Grand Prix car.

Visitors can indulge their love of historic GP cars over the long weekend at Donington. Festival ticket holders are entitled to two-for-one entry to the Donington Grand Prix Collection – the largest showcase of Grand Prix racing cars in the world.

The race grids have something for everyone – everything from Pre-war to 1990s touring cars will be at the Historic. The races now confirmed for the event (with news of yet more due early in 2013) are guaranteed to provide spectacular entertainment for visitors:
