PSA CEO Tavares will be keynote speaker in Brussels

PSA/Peugeot-Citroen CEO Carlos Tavares will be the keynote speaker at the Automotive News Europe Congress on June 4 in Brussels.
Tavares, 55, has been handed responsibility for a company that lost about 7 billion euros in the past five years.
He says his challenges include reducing PSA’s car lineups, strengthening the company’s presence in China and adjusting its European production footprint.
Before getting the top job at PSA, Tavares had been Renault’s Chief Operating Officer since 2011, and previously held several key jobs at Nissan, Renault’s alliance partner.
He began his career at Renault in 1981 and spent 23 years in senior engineering and program management assignments. Tavares moved to Nissan in 2004 and was soon named head of product strategy and product planning. He later became president of Nissan North America.
The Congress will be held on June 3-4 at the Steigenberger Grandhotel in Brussels.
