2015 Toyota GT86 revealed with minor updates
Toyota has updated the popular GT86 coupe for the 2015 model year with minor updates, that take a trained eye to spot the visual changes, but there are also changes under the skin, improving handling and stability.
Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada said: “There is no reason that development should stop, only because the vehicle has gone on sale. GT86 is all about driver involvement, and we are committed to keep enhancing this aspect of the car. The 2015 Model Year delivers the latest status of GT86’s continuous evolution.”
There is now a more rigid fixation of the front suspension and the rear shock absorbers, providing a more stable damping and improved friction control, delivering smoother and more communicative handling. Body-roll is also further reduced, and the steering feel is crisper than before.
A new shark-fin antenna is both a visual update and also helps to improve the aerodynamics. Along with a new antenna, new pearl-white and silver paint finish are offered.
Interior updates include new carbon-fibre motif dashboard insert.
The updated GT86 will be available throughout Europe from summer with the same 197bhp 2.0-litre boxer engine.
