Microsoft demos Windows In The Car concept
Microsoft is busy working on an alternative to Apple’s CarPlay, which debuted last month at the Geneva Motor Show.
During its recent Build developer conference, Microsoft demoed the integration of its smart phones with automobiles.
The system basically ports your smart phone’s screen onto the car’s touchscreen, allowing users to access everything on the phone on a bigger more convenient screen from apps like Pandora, Spotify and TuneIn Radio. The screen also shows us the Trapster app, which displays the location of red light cameras, speed traps and cameras.
The system is currently in development and testing continues in simulators and prototypes. This is clearly an important area and we expect to see the consumer ready solution very soon.
