Subaru Impreza sales in UK ended in 2013 due to low demand and now Subaru UK is bringing the Impreza back to the UK, with the latest model going on sale throughout the network from 1 May.

Good news, but don’t get too excited as the new Impreza will be offered exclusively with the 112bhp non-turbo 1.6-litre Boxer engine.

The 1.6-litre unit can be linked to five-speed manual or Subaru’s Lineartronic transmission with prices starting from £17,495 and £18,995 respectively.

Good news is that the All-Wheel Drive is still there, making it the only car in the C-segment to offer AWD as standard on every model.

The new Impreza also features a new Auto Start Stop system, boosting fuel savings in congested traffic, returning 44.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 147g/km.

With the 112bhp engine, 0-60mph comes in 12.4 seconds and the top speed is 114mph. Not something you want to brag about.

UK spec Impreza also comes with automatic on/off headlamps, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front fog lamps, power-folding heated door mirrors with LED turn signals, windscreen wiper de-icer system, 16-inch alloy wheels, tyre repair kit and daytime running lights.

Comfort goodies include dual-zone air-conditioning, rear passenger heating and ventilation ducts, six-way manually-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, 60/40 split-fold rear seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, two 12V power outlets, USB and aux-in jacks, and a reversing camera.
